"This is a place for real recognition only. No negativity, no noise, no jerks. When you Joydrop someone, you'll feel it — that charge of having said the real thing to the right person. You leave this place more connected than when you arrived. That's not a feature. That's the whole point."

01
Lead with respect.

Behind every Joydrop is a real person. Treat them accordingly.

Hate speech, discrimination, harassment, and bullying have no place here — in Joydrops, in communities, or anywhere on the platform. This applies to how you treat other users and how you write about people who aren't on joydrop yet.

02
Keep it real.

joydrop is for authentic recognition — moments that actually happened, that actually meant something. Not performance. Not self-promotion. Not manufactured gestures.

Spam, fake recognition, and coordinated inauthentic behavior will be removed. Say the real thing or don't say it.

03
Share responsibly.

Before you include someone's story, image, or personal details in a Joydrop, make sure you have their permission.

Recognition should feel good to receive. If you wouldn't say it to someone's face — don't send it here. Public Joydrops should celebrate, not embarrass.

04
Protect privacy.

Don't share anyone's personal information — addresses, phone numbers, private messages, or anything they haven't chosen to make public.

This applies to your own information too. joydrop takes privacy seriously. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

05
No harmful or illegal content.

Do not share content that is hateful, violent, sexually explicit, or promotes illegal activity. This includes content that targets individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.

joydrop will remove violating content and may suspend or terminate accounts without notice.

06
Give because you mean it.

joydrop is about recognition, not reciprocity. Send a Joydrop because you noticed something real — not because you expect something back, not to build a following, not to perform generosity for an audience.

The moment is the thing. Keep it that way.

07
Community admins set the tone.

If you run a joydrop community, you are responsible for the culture inside it. That means:

  • Setting clear expectations for your members
  • Addressing conduct that violates these guidelines promptly
  • Not using your community to harass, exclude, or target individuals
  • Ensuring your community's purpose aligns with joydrop's values

joydrop reserves the right to remove or restrict any community that violates these guidelines, regardless of size or standing.

08
Report what's off.

If you see something that doesn't belong here — content that violates these guidelines, behavior that feels wrong — report it. Our team reviews every report.

To report a violation, contact us at Happy@joydrop.me with a description of the issue and, if possible, a screenshot or username.

Enforcement
What happens when guidelines are violated.

joydrop takes violations seriously. Depending on the severity and frequency of the violation, consequences may include:

  • Removal of the violating content
  • A warning issued to the account
  • Temporary suspension of the account
  • Permanent termination of the account
  • Removal or restriction of a community

joydrop reserves the right to act on violations without prior notice. Severe violations — including harassment, threats, or illegal content — will result in immediate account termination.

If you believe your account was actioned in error, you may appeal by contacting us at Happy@joydrop.me. We review appeals on a case-by-case basis. Appeals do not guarantee reinstatement.
